CyberSafeTT has been delivering presentations to students, parents & teachers on topics related to Cyber Bullying, Internet Addiction and Social Media Etiquette voluntarily since 2010!

CyberSafeTT.com is the brainchild of Daren Dhoray, a Digital Anthropologist who set out with the mission of educating primary and secondary school students, parents and teachers on the benefits as well as the current dangers of social media and the Internet safety. What started off (September 2010) as sessions held primarily for incoming secondary school students who would now be getting their first computers, soon grew into larger sessions being held for entire secondary schools and additional sessions being held for parents and teachers. The scope of these sessions were initially limited to schools in Daren’s hometown of south Trinidad.

Around 2012 / 2013 it became evident that the concerns surrounding the issue of cyber safety were even more significant and imperative. The timing of this initiative could not have been more perfect as at the same time, Daren’s colleagues from the Campus IT Services of The University of The West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, were working on an outreach initiative of similar nature. It was decided that this extended team would work towards creating content for the website as well as broaden the scope of outreach presence to not only the southern schools but to schools and other interested organizations across Trinidad and Tobago.

Since that time, CyberSafeTT has had the support of various organizations such as The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago who funded the production of the CyberSafeTT.com Video Series as well as supported the research initiative (2015/2016) carried out with the extended team at The University of The West Indies, Campus IT Services. It is only with such assistance that this initiative can continue to thrive in a viable manner and be able to adequately contribute to the society at large.

To date, CyberSafeTT has been able to reach over 15,000 students, 3000 teachers and parents. We have delivered presentations all over Trinidad and Tobago and have also presented to schools and non-profits in Grenada, St. Lucia, Jamaica and international organizations with participants listening on from Brazil, Germany, Italy, Portugal, USA and Spain.

CyberSafeTT continues to deliver presentations to Schools and Non-Profits voluntary. If you are interested in partnering with CyberSafeTT please contact us at daren@cybersafett.com or call at 868.680.6480 for information on how you can contribute to this initiative.
